Tumbling Class Descriptions

Tumbling Classes:
Introduction to Tumbling:
- 55 Min Class
- Student/ Teacher Ratio is 8 to 1
- Class Objectives: The athlete will successfully master the cartwheel, round off, handstand, and backbend kick over. The athlete will begin skills that will help their bodies develop to be a strong tumbler. The athlete will be able to perform all skills in synchronization to counts.
FUNdemental Tumbling:
- 55 Min Class
- Student Teacher Ratio is 8 to 1
- Class Objectives: The athlete will successfully master the connection of skills from TumbleIntro. The athlete will also begin a very basic understanding of a Back Handspring.
Tumble 100:
- 55 Min Class
- Student/ Teacher Ratio is 8 to 1
- Class Objectives: The athlete will be introduced to the back handspring and begin to master the skill. The athlete will begin skills that will help their bodies develop to be a strong tumbler and cheerleader. The athlete will be able to perform all skills in synchronization to counts.
Tumble 200:
- 55 Min Class
- Student/ Teacher Ratio is 8 to 1
- Class Objectives: The athlete will successfully master the round off back handsprings and the standing back handsprings. The athlete will begin an introduction to the back tuck. The athlete will begin skills that will help their bodies develop to be a strong tumbler and cheerleader. The athlete will be able to perform all skills in synchronization to counts.
Tumble 300:
- 55 Min Class
- Student/ Teacher Ratio is 8 to 1
- Class Objectives: The athlete will successfully master the round off back handspring back tuck, a round off tuck, and a front tuck. The athlete will begin an introduction standing back handspring tuck and standing back tuck. The athlete will begin skills that will help their bodies develop to be a strong tumbler and cheerleader. The athlete will be able to perform all skills in synchronization to counts.
Tumble 400:
- 55 Min Class
- Student/ Teacher Ratio is 8 to 1
- Class Objectives: The athlete will successfully master the round off back handspring layout, a standing back handspring and tuck, and a standing back tuck. The athlete will begin an introduction to advanced combination passes. The athlete will begin skills that will help their bodies develop to be a strong tumbler and cheerleader. The athlete will be able to perform all skills in synchronization to counts.
Tumble 500:
- 55 Min Class
- Student/ Teacher Ratio is 8 to 1
- Class Objectives: The athlete will successfully master the round off back handspring layout full, a standing back handspring layout and full, and jumps connected to the back tuck. The athlete will begin an introduction to advanced combination passes. The athlete will begin skills that will help their bodies develop to be a strong tumbler and cheerleader. The athlete will be able to perform all skills in synchronization to counts.
Elite Tumbling:
- 55 Min Class
- Student/ Teacher Ratio is 8 to 1
- Class Objectives: The athlete will successfully master the round off back handspring double full, a standing back handspring full and double full, and a standing full. The athlete will begin an introduction to advanced combination passes. The athlete will begin skills that will help their bodies develop to be a strong tumbler and cheerleader. The athlete will be able to perform all skills in synchronization to counts.
Supplemental Tumbling Classes: (these classes are designed to be taken in addition to a regular tumble class)
Handspring Class:
- 45 Min Class
- Student/ Teacher Ratio is 6to 1
- Prerequisite:Athlete should pass Tumble 1 prior to taking BHS class or have recommendation from Premier Athletics Coach)
- Class Objectives: The athlete will successfully master the standing back handspring. This class is designed to focus on strength and drills to achieve a standing back handspring. This is a good supplemental class to tumble 100 or tumble 200.
Tuck Class:
- 45 Min Class
- Student/ Teacher Ratio is 6 to 1
- Prerequisite:Athlete should pass tumble 200 or have a recommendation from a Premier Athletics instructor.
- Class Objectives: The athlete will successfully master the standing back tuck. This class is designed to focus on strength and drills to achieve a standing back tuck. This is a good supplemental class to Tumble 300 and Tumble 400.
Cheer 1:
Ø 55 minute class
Ø Student/ teacher ratio is 8 to 1
Ø This class is designed to give students an overall knowledge of the essential elements in cheerleading. Students will be taught motions, jumps, basic tumbling using the floor, tumble trak, and trampolines. This is a great class for those just beginning, or those with experience, giving everyone a chance to perfect their skills. There is no previous cheer experience needed to begin this class.
Flier Flexibility:
Ø 55 min Class
Ø Student/Teacher ratio is 8 to 1
Ø This class is designed to help students achieve the correct body positions needed in cheerleading to be a flier. Right, left and middle splits along with heel stretches, overstretches, scorpions, and etc. are goals for this class. Students are not required to have any previous experience to register in this class.
Partner Stunt Class:
Ø 55 Min Class
Ø Student/ Teacher Ratio is 4 to 1
Ø This class is designed to give the middle school and high school cheerleaders a basic knowledge of partner stunt skills, including toss drills, toss to hands, toss extentions, and toss liberty. Minimum age for this class is 13 yrs. and students must have approval before enrolling.
