I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I have always been on a mission for something bigger than myself and have always known I would teach something to someone, somewhere. I never thought it would be as rewarding of a feeling as it has been. Starting at the age of 14 years old I was assigned my first dance class of ten kids ages five to eight. At first, I thought,” How do I get their attention, and how am I going to teach them what I know.” It didn’t take me more than two class hours to figure that out. The kids quickly realized that I could do everything they wanted to do and that I knew how to teach them to do it. Knowing this made them all ears; and they learned fast because they were doing something they wanted to do and were having fun doing it!

I am an accomplished athlete and experienced coach, with expertise including gymnastics, cheer leading, football, basketball, volleyball, track, and modern dance. My passion is keeping kids motivated while building their skills, self-esteem, and confidence. I believe that the more fun we have learning a skill, the faster we learn. Over the past 13 years, I have learned to address the variable needs of children participating in class sessions in order to keep them learning and progressing. I have a core set of rules that I believe is the reason for my success as a coach and as an individual. These rules are as follows:

#1 Have Fun - Because if you are having fun you learn faster and stay focused.

#2 Respect - You need to treat others the way you want to be treated. That applies to everyone, even the coach.

#3 Never, Never, Never, Give Up - Sometimes it just takes longer than normal, but if you keep trying with the right teachings and skills, you will develop the craft.

Students and their parents become familiar with these rules in just a short time of hearing them, because they can be used outside of class as well to achieve any goal set in life. My effectiveness has made me a recognizable coach that is easy to spot in any gym. I have worked closely in various programs with the NBA, NFL, professionals beyond my own expertise, private athletic facilities, and both the Northside Independent School District and the Northeast Independent School Districts of San Antonio Texas.
