Scholar Athlete Of The Year Deadline Extended!
If you would like to be considered for our Scholar Athlete Of The Year award, the deadline has now been extended to April 29th. Below is all the information you need to apply. Good luck!
The Premier Athletics Scholar Athlete of the Year was established to provide the opportunity for outstanding students to pursue an educational career. There will be two $2500 scholarships open to eligible incoming freshman who select a university to attend. This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated strong intellectual ability and leadership potential, high motivation, and excellent personal standards. The two recipients of the award will be known Premier Athletics Scholar Athlete over all Premier Athletics facilities.
For this award only graduating seniors will be eligible and the gym manager of your facility will pick the top three from that particular program. Those top three individuals will be the finalists that will then go through a phone interview process with Premier Athletics Corporate Staff. The following requirements must be met in order to be eligible for the Premier Athletics Scholar Athlete of the Year:
Minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4-point scale)
Current senior
In EXCELLENT status with current high school
Application and other materials are postmarked no later than March 1st
Valid high school transcript
Typed Essay
Two Letter of Recommendations that are submitted from a school official or coach
Must be a participant of the Premier program for three years.
Complete the phone interview process if selected as a finalist.
Must be in good standing with your all-star program. This includes being current with all gym fees and team fund fees.
Scholarship applicants will be selected on a competitive basis using a combination of criteria:
Academic Performance
Class rank, course difficulty
Current Grade Point Average (on a 4-point scale)
Academic and School Achievements
Leadership potential, intellectual ability, high personal standards, motivation
Involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, clubs and organizations
In good standing with teachers, coaches, and current high school
Excellent communication through the interview process
Thoughtful and creative writing in the essay
